Participants will complete a 12-month post-military budget. Participants will learn about: credit reports/ scores, how to evaluate salary and total compensation packages, resources for retirement, Thrift Savings Plan, health insurance, life insurance, implications of taxes after transition, evaluate cost of living, developing spending and savings plan, and debt management. o Financial Planning Seminar/12-month Budget: This 5-hour workshop entails detailed information and tools to identify financial responsibilities, obligations and goals after transition from the military. Participants document gaps between civilian career and requirements for that occupation. o MOC Crosswalk/Gap Analysis: During this workshop, participants examine military experience, education and training, and identify civilian occupations that align with experience. o Transition Overview: This 2-hour briefing provides information about what to expect as you transition, and this briefing must be completed before you enroll in other workshops or training. TAP Workshops: TAP curriculum components should ideally be completed over the course of a few months, however, all can be completed over a 5-day period if your transition timeline is short.The completed ITP is reviewed by the SFL-TAP Counselor and Commander prior to transition. The ITP is a working document that evolves throughout transition preparation. Individual Transition Plan (ITP): This step-by-step plan is initially drafted during the Initial Counseling and outlines post-military personal and professional goals and objectives.Pre-separation Counseling & Initial Counseling: During this first step, participants receive information about transition requirements and timelines, SFL-TAP services, and complete a Pre-Separation Counseling Checklist (DD Form 2648).Once approved through legal forwarded to IMCOM Regional Coordinator for final acknowledgement signature. Packet is sent to assigned SJA for legal review 6. Turn in a completed packet (Individual Internship Agreement, Soldier Participation Memorandum, DA-31, DD Form 2648, a copy of your LES and ERB) to your servicing CSP Installation Coordinator (CSP IA) 4. Submit your CSP Soldier Participation Memorandum w/ DA-31 to your chain of command for approval 3. Please fill out the CSP Individual Internship Agreement w/ Employer Agreement 2. **If going outside the 50 mile radius, the program/internship cannot last more than 120 days Include a copy of your DD Form 2648 (SFL completion) to the packet. *You must also complete all SFL-TAP transition classes and have a plan to complete your Capstone prior final out processing from the Army. Part IV: IMCOM Review (To be completed by HQ CSP Regional Coordinator) Part III: Installation JAG Review (To be completed by JAG Officer) 4-5: Are completed during the legal review and IMCOM approval steps. Part II: Employer Individual Internship Agreement Employer will sign and agree to the simple language as a substitute memorandum of understanding for your internship. #1-4: Fill out all sections and we will look this over when you submit it for review. (3) CSP Individual Internship Agreement Instructions: You will then fill in the appropriate boxes. (2) DA-31: Check the boxes to show that the type of absence is non-chargeable and the Career Skills Program box is the appropriate selection. Parts III, IV, and V must be filled out by appropriate chain of command authorities If CSP is outside the 50 mile radius you will are doing an administrative absence and require Brigade Commander (and/or) / General Officer Approvals. #14 please provide a good employer point of contact. CSP Program Name=Employer Name and you must list the full physical address since off the installation. Part II: Program Information (internship contact details) will contain the employer/program information and needs to be filled out according to the instructions. (1) CSP Soldier Participation Memorandum: This is where your command gives approval for you to participate in the program. NOTE: The following documents require signatures of approval by your Chain of Command, the employer you are seeking an internship with, your installations legal team, and then forward it to me you servicing CSP Regional Coordinator.
